Member Spotlight Interview: Marcy R.

What is your golf background?
I learned to play golf at age 13 and would play 9 holes every Sunday in the summer with my Dad. I put down my clubs for 20 years to raise my daughters. At age 48, I took the game back up. I started taking lessons because I wanted to make serious improvements. At age 63, I'm still addicted to the sport. I continue taking lessons and finding areas to improve my golf game. Hardly a day goes by without my picking up a golf club.

How long have you been using GolfForever?
I was an early adopter. It was when there were short exercise routines of individual exercises before Today’s Workout was a feature.

Before starting GolfForever, what were your biggest challenges or frustrations with your golf game?
At age 48, I mostly had no flexibility and my back would hurt after a lesson, practice session, or round of golf. ! Now, at age 63, I don't experience either of those issues today!

How many days a week do you use GolfForever?
4-5 days per week, depending on my time availability. In addition, I stretch and foam roll daily incorporating learnings from the program.

How do you fit GolfForever into your day if you are playing golf?
I like to use a fundamental workout of the day. I usually won't do the rotational power workout if I have planned competitive rounds that day. If I play casual rounds and my tee time is later, I will do the fundamental and rotational power workouts.

Do you mix GolfForever with other forms of exercise?
I try to add 2-3 days of running and 2-3 days of walking. I also foam roll and stretch 1-2 times daily.

Are there any workouts that you repeat regularly? If so, what do you like about those workouts?
I like the stretching and injury prevention routines. Specifically, I like Jeremy James' back health and hip workouts. Pete [Holman] has a 30-minute extended stretch workout that I really like after I have overdone it on golf—like when I have played three days or more in a row. Then, I am usually stiff, sore, and tired. Pete's workout helps me feel better!

What has been the biggest change you have noticed in your body and game since starting GolfForever?
Since I started using GolfForever, the changes in my body and game have been remarkable. At 63, I'm more flexible than I was in my 20's and 30's. I can now turn more than when I started taking lessons at 48. I can even bring my arms straight up and touch my ears - a feat I've never been able to do before. And I can easily touch the floor now, a testament to my improved flexibility!

If you have any other thoughts, feedback, or wins about your experience as a GolfForever, please share them here!
I invest a lot of money in golf lessons trying to learn to swing like an LPGA player! I'm making significant progress on that goal! But those dollars would be wasted without having GolfForever as my partner. This program helps me to build the strength, flexibility, mobility, balance, and stamina needed to achieve my golf goals. I also like GolfForever because I don't have to think much about what I want to do each morning. I open the app, select Today's Workout, and I'm ready. It's an easy time commitment too! My workout is completed in 25-40 minutes. I like knowing I am doing so much good for my body with this program.
