Back Workout to Prevent Golf-Related Injury

Back pain is all too common in golfers. What many are surprised to hear is that  - for the most part - it is completely preventable. Additionally, once it’s occurred it's also almost always treatable without surgery or drugs. And no,  this doesn’t mean playing less golf or swinging less than 100 percent.

Biomechanically speaking, the golf swing is an unnatural movement. That is to say that, for many peoples’ bodies, it isn’t something we are naturally prepared for or equipped to do without wear and tear. I stress the word “naturally” because there are very effective techniques to prepare and adapt your body for the golf swing to prevent break down over time. These techniques involve exercise and flexibility drills to increase upper back, shoulder, and hip mobility as well as strength drills to build core and hip strength.

Today’s workout does just that. Led by Pete Holman, it’s a back health focused workout using the GolfForever swing trainer. This workout is going to hit all the important aspects of spinal health: posture, alignment, balance, core strength and mobility.
